Welcoming Peter French and Mary Kate Anderson to Our Board of Directors
Please join us in welcoming two new members to the Adaptive Adventures Board of Directors: Peter French and Mary Kate Anderson!
Peter is a veteran and healthcare administrator who served for 21 years in the United States Air Force as a Medical Service Corps officer. A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Certified Defense Financial Manager, he brings extensive leadership, healthcare, and financial management experience to our Board.
Having personally experienced the healing and restorative power of outdoor recreation, Peter deeply believes in the connection between physical activity, community, and well-being. He is especially inspired by our work alongside veterans and individuals with physical disabilities.
Originally from Bend, Oregon, Peter competed in cross-country skiing at the collegiate level and remains an avid cyclist, runner, skier, and paddleboarder. He now lives in the Seattle area with his wife and son.
Mary Kate is an accomplished leader in strategic partnerships and business development who has built her career helping organizations grow through meaningful relationships and purposeful collaboration. She looks forward to using that experience to expand opportunities for people with physical disabilities to discover confidence, independence, and connection through adaptive recreation.
Her connection to our mission is deeply personal. After her brother lost his left leg when he was struck by a drunk driver, Mary Kate witnessed both the challenges of life after amputation and the extraordinary resilience that can follow a life-changing injury. Although her brother later passed away, his strength, determination, and outlook continue to inspire her. Her Board service is one way she honors his legacy while helping others discover that disability does not define what is possible.
A former Division I soccer player and active Masters swimmer, Mary Kate has always believed in the power of sport to build confidence and create community. She lives in Colorado with her husband, their two children, and their beloved dog—and can often be found swimming, hiking, snowboarding, traveling, or exploring the outdoors with her family.
Peter and Mary Kate each bring remarkable experience, genuine passion, and a strong belief in the power of adventure to heal, challenge, and connect us. We are honored to have them helping guide Adaptive Adventures into its next chapter.
Welcome to the team, Peter and Mary Kate!
