Adaptive Adventures day is topic of Thursday MCPD meeting
CHEYENNE – The Mayor’s Council for People with Disabilities (MCPD) will host Carlo Migliaccio as guest speaker at its regular monthly meeting on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Migliaccio's presentation will be on the multi-sport day, Adaptive Adventures, taking place at Curt Gowdy State Park on Aug. 14. The event, featuring adaptable equipment such as adaptable bicycles, assisted mini mountain climbing and adaptable boating, among other activities, provides people of all abilities the opportunity to experience outdoor activities they may not have had access to in many years or ever in their lives.
“Adaptive Adventures was one of the most empowering events that I’ve attended in years!” said Kristy Richardson, secretary for the MCPD, in a news release. “I was able to participate in it with my family, and engage in activities which made me feel energized and excited!”
